These are the terms for the Told Father's Day Founder Edition. They're written in plain English on purpose — if any of it raises a question, email daine@dainereid.com before you order. Told is operated by Daine Reid, ABN 67 571 245 589, Gold Coast, Queensland.
One Founder Edition package for $199 AUD, which includes:
The Founder Edition is limited to twenty books. The standard price after the founder batch is $299.
The interviewer is an AI voice service — we say this plainly on the sales page and we'll say it again here. It calls on an ordinary phone line, asks questions, listens, and follows the conversation naturally. Every chapter is reviewed by a real person before anything goes to print. The first call always begins by explaining to your storyteller who's calling and why, and only continues with their agreement.
If your book is not in your hands before Father's Day, Sunday 6 September 2026, we refund your full $199 — no questions asked, no forms — and you still receive the book when it's finished. This guarantee assumes the interviews can actually happen; if delivery is late because the storyteller couldn't or wouldn't complete the calls despite reasonable rescheduling, we'll talk to you about options rather than apply the guarantee automatically — and we'll always be fair about it.
The recordings, transcripts and finished text are your family's. We claim no ownership of the stories and no right to publish, excerpt or share them. We use them for one purpose: making your book. (Our Privacy Policy covers how the recordings are stored and deleted.)
We write what your storyteller tells us, in their voice, edited for readability — we don't fact-check family history, and the book may contain their recollections rather than the historical record. We may decline to print material that is unlawful or defamatory of living people; if that ever arises we'll discuss it with you first.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights — our guarantees above are in addition to them, not instead of them. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us.
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. If we update them, the new version applies to orders placed after the update — never retrospectively to yours.
